Hi, I'm Arnhav Iyengar, a senior software engineer at Abode Money in Austin, TX. Before that, I spent four years at Meritize building the systems behind student loan decisions, from the rules engine to the infrastructure it runs on.
Outside work I build Atlas, a Minecraft RPG server, plus small tools for people I know.

Abode Money, Senior Software Engineer (Apr 2026–now)
Meritize, Senior Software Engineer (Mar 2022–Apr 2026)
- Architected and built an in-house loan origination system that replaced a $15,000/month vendor. It processes thousands of loan applications a day through a deterministic, stateless rules engine that uses credit and merit data.
- Led a zero-downtime database refactor: unified three IDs into one, split 50+ column tables into normalized 5–10 column tables, and added a data warehouse to keep analytics queries off the operational databases.
- Moved our apps from IBM Cloud to self-hosted Dokku, cutting average load time by 4 seconds, deploy time by 80% and build/test time by 50%. Wrote a custom Concourse resource in Oil Shell so deploy pipelines are readable.
- Reworked the internal operations portal around the new system, giving underwriters faster, more transparent decisions and letting compliance simulate loan decisions.
- Modernized the applicant portal and the school admin portal to reduce applicant drop-off and make application status easier to track.
- Built LaTeX contract generation with automatic DocuSign import, and a Cypress tool that lets compliance capture screenshots of any customer-facing app as it looked at any past point.
- Built a standalone XML parsing app, and ran technical pair-programming interviews.

- Moved the web apps from dedicated physical servers to cloud virtual servers while keeping them compliant with infrastructure requirements.
- Built an in-house PHP e-learning platform for driving lessons and exams.
Forth-Rite Technologies, Software Engineer Intern (Jun–Aug 2018)
- Built a proof of concept for a digital mass flow controller alternative that read RS485 signals, showing potential cost savings.
